red-icon-3A local volunteer organization sought to ensure the sustainability of their leadership. The key to sustainability for this organization turned out to be adaptability. OMG! worked with the staff, board and volunteers on a change management program. The process included:

  • frank discussions among all stakeholders;
  • executive leadership training and How To Develop An Emerging Leader Pipeline workshop; and
  • development of detailed roles and responsibilities for all staff, volunteers and board members.

This initiative resulted in

  • a changed structure of the organization to ensure a sustainable model;
  • creation of a clear vision of the necessary characteristics of a leader;
  • a process that identified and cultivated new board members from the membership;
  • better communication of policies, standards and organizational goals; and
  • an increased level of commitment and engagement of stakeholders and Board members
